Packing for Less

Packing can be a real problem when you are preparing for a vacation. In fact, for many people it is one of the first things that need to be dealt with in preparation for a vacation. On your last trip you might have ruined a suitcase. You may have an extra person to bring on this trip. Maybe you are just bringing more things with you than you usually do on vacations. Or, perhaps you are taking your first vacation that you are in control of. Whatever the reason, there seems to be one big problem that most people have on a regular basis: Not having enough suitcases and bags. If you have ever had to buy luggage then you know how expensive it can be. Being smart in how you solve this problem can save you much money to put towards other vacation expenses.

To save money on luggage the first step is to find a good price. Going to Goodwill or thrift stores can save you a lot of money on luggage and can offer a large selection of choices. The second step is deciding on a bag that is going to last for a long time. Inspect luggage before you buy it for any rips, tears, holes, or any general weaknesses in the material. It does you no good to save $5 on a bag if it lasts half as long as the alternative. Lastly, to avoid having to spend more money than necessary on luggage be sure to take care of what you have. Keeping your luggage in good condition can mean the difference between a bag lasting you for 10 years and one lasting you for 50 years. Keep your luggage in a nice, safe, dry place and you might be able to save a nice amount of money over the next few years.

Vacation Checklist

Although vacations are a time to relax and unwind, they can also be quite stressful. if you are going on vacation as a family, there will usually be about four or five of you wanting to do things, and you often have very different interests. Managing your time during a vacation is a vital part of having a good holiday and writing a list of things you need to do is a good way to accomplish this.

The first step is to find out what everyone wants to do and make a note of it. You should try to factor in things like cost and the time their experience will take when planning your list. Make sure you keep in mind at all times the length of your vacation and the amount of time you will need in order to fit everything in. Researching the city or area that you are visiting is also important to make sure that everyone’s tastes are going to be met.

You should also be prepared for possible changes that need to be made to your timetable once you reach your destination. No matter how much you research the area before hand, you are always going to find new things that you didn’t know about when you get there that people may want to do. Try to have a day that is free of plans in order to accommodate these adventures.

You also need to make sure that activities aren’t left off the list, no matter how small they are. Even if somebody simply wants to put some time aside to shop for postcards, make sure you write it on your list and plan some time for it.

Sticking to these tips will help you have a relaxing and enjoyable vacation where everybody is satisfied. And don’t forget to pick up some souvenirs!

Macau, China: A Gaming Destination Vacation Better than an Online Casino

For the gambling and travel enthusiast, a trip to Macau, China is a must-do event. Not only does Macau have one of the largest concentrations of casinos in the world, many of them are among the top twenty largest casinos in the world, two of which come in first and second place. This is particularly impressive considering the city-state’s small size, and travel to Macau is easy via a quick helicopter ride from the Hong Kong airport, or only an hour via a high-speed water ferry.

Once in Macau, taxis are the best way to get around the small peninsula and to go across the bridges to the connected islands where mammoth casinos command the landscape. Here, the Venetian Macau will astound visitors with a sprawling casino floor complete with slots, table games and a host of fine and casual dining opportunities. Attached to Venetian Macau is a high profile shopping experience, almost the size of a mall in and of itself, which includes many boutiques, gift shops, clothing stores. The event center at the Venetian Macau is also a spectacular sight to behold, and the hotel rooms provide amazing vantage points from which to view the islands, hills, and water views.

Macau is also home to several other massive and unique casinos including City of Dreams Resort, Wynn Macau, Sands Macau, Starworld Hotel & Casino, MGM Grand Macau and Casino Pointe 16. At these casinos live entertainment is a nightly affair with live dancing and singing. Plus, on the mainland, most casinos are within walking distance from each other, as are other entertainment and dining venues. While an online casino might suffice for occasional gaming enjoyment, these casinos, combined with the unique culture, warm climate and close proximity to Hong Kong, make Macau a true gambling destination vacation.

Is there any time that you should not travel? With the down economy and so many people out of work, it may seem very selfish to head out and see the world, but avoiding travel could be one of the biggest mistakes that you make. One of the biggest reasons to invest in a vacation right now is that you can often find great deals that were not available just a few years ago. You can get more for your money when you travel today. Some of the top affiliate programs for travel are promoting discounts that are bigger than those seen in the past.

Why is this? The service has not changed. The overall experience is unlikely to have changed. What is different right now is that so many opportunities are available. Most travel destinations are seeing a reduction in the number of people traveling. To get people in, they are offering deep discounts.

If you still need more encouragement to travel now, consider the benefit to those who live and work in these travel areas. Without people like you coming to visit, it is difficult to know what could happen to them. In other words, they are relying on you and your business. Time is Money: Using Travel Down Time to Be Productive

When you’re traveling, you have plenty of downtime. Whether it’s in the car, on the plane, or in the airport, you need something amusing and productive to do with your time, especially if you believe that time is money. Here are some ideas to keep you busy and cheerful during those times of waiting.

Do online research. There are probably a number of things you’ve been meaning to look up online. If you’ve got Internet access, you can check up on your favorite sports teams. Research the types of auto insurance Albany agents are offering for your type of vehicle. Find out which are the best restaurants in the city you’re visiting.

Clear out your contacts. Go through your email and phone contact lists and delete outdated entries. You can also filter out contacts you’ve never used. This will make finding people easier the next time you have to search for someone’s contact information.

Read a magazine. You probably keep up with a newspaper or two. You may even make good progress on a novel before bed each evening. Magazines seem to get relegated to the back of the line when it comes to reading material. However, magazines provide the perfect bite-sized articles for those who are traveling and want to gain some in-depth knowledge. You can read an insightful one-page article while you’re waiting for your group to board the plane. And when you’re tired of the magazine, you can just toss it.

Follow up on phone calls. Sitting in an airport or a car will give you ample time to make some of the phone calls you’ve been putting off. These situations also give you a good reason to cut the conversations short when the person on the other end of the line gets too long-winded.

By using your time wisely during travel, you can be productive and make the time pass quickly.

Ensuring Your International Trip is Insured

It’s often a dream of many people to be able to travel all over the world. While some international destinations do not require the use of a rental car because they are easily accessible via public transportation, some international destinations do require a car.

Whenever a traveler faces the situation of having to rent a car, there is the issue of insurance. When the car is rented in the United States, there is no need to worry about buying extra insurance as most companies, such as 21st Car Insurance, will cover any type of accident or damage that occurs. However, international travel can be different and accidents and damage caused in a foreign country may not be covered by an American insurance policy.

As every country has the right to make its own laws and regulations regarding insurance, some countries are not covered under a traveler’s United State’s insurance policy. It is a good idea if you are planning on driving any type of car in a foreign country to check with the rental car company or your own insurance company to make sure that you are covered.

In some instances, a traveler may need to purchase extra international car insurance. Many of these insurance policies are available at the rental car company itself. If the rental car company does not have an insurance plan in place, there are dozens of international insurance companies that will offer a temporary policy for the traveler.

Driving internationally is nerve-wrecking enough. There is no need to worry about being covered should an accident occur while you’re driving. Make sure that you have all the necessary insurance and paperwork before you get to the foreign country. The best plan of action is to make sure that you are protected ahead of time so you can have a wonderful and enjoyable vacation.
